Frequently asked questions

It is okay to have questions before you begin.

Find warm, straightforward answers about telehealth, first visits, insurance, privacy, medication management, and taking the next step.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. All psychiatric appointments are currently provided through secure telehealth for eligible patients in Florida.

What ages do you treat?

Avenmind Health Group provides psychiatric care for adolescents ages 16 and older, adults, and older adults.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment is a thoughtful conversation about your concerns, relevant health history, goals, and questions. You do not need to have everything figured out before you reach out.

Do you prescribe medication?

Medication management is available when clinically appropriate. Individual treatment decisions are made with your provider after an evaluation and a conversation about your needs.

Which insurance plans do you accept?

The practice lists Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Ascension (SmartHealth), and Florida Medicaid. Please contact the office to verify your current benefits, copay, deductible, and eligibility before care.

What concerns can I discuss with a provider?

The practice supports patients with concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, stress and burnout, life transitions, and older adult mental health. A provider can discuss whether the practice may be an appropriate fit for your needs.

Can I send private health information by email or chat?

Please do not send highly sensitive medical details, urgent concerns, or protected health information through general website messages or the AvenMind Guide. Call the office for guidance on the appropriate next step.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you may have the right to receive a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. Contact the office to ask for an estimate and visit the Privacy & Patient Information page for more details.

Do you offer in-person appointments?

Avenmind Health Group currently provides secure telehealth psychiatric appointments for eligible Florida patients. The Wellington address is a mailing address only, not a walk-in clinic.

How do I request an appointment?

Call (561) 858-1661 or email contact@avenmindhealth.com to request an appointment. The team can discuss next steps, telehealth logistics, and coverage questions.

In an emergency

Avenmind Health Group’s website, email, and information assistant are not emergency services. If you are in immediate danger or having a mental-health emergency, call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or call or text 988 in the United States.
